I think it's raining outside

Yes, we've made it to Washington. And oddly enough for a state that rarely gets snow it snowed the first two days I was here! I think this unfortunate event was a direct result of the Michigan weather following me.

So let me explain my first day here. . . . I wake-up lying on the floor of our wonderful new 1-bedroom apartment at 5:30am, which would've been a respectable 8:30am MI time or even 9:30am St. Croix time, (where I was just 4 days prior cuz I went home for the holidays).

And you see, I was kindly given an air mattress from a work buddy of Josh's, but unfortunately the air pump did not work and I was not about to huff and puff my way to a "select comfort" night on air. So I'm on the floor with some borrowed blankets and my coat as a pillow.

So I wake up to find there is about 3 inches of snow on the ground, no biggy. Unfortunately WA has very limited snow removal resources so it's all getting packed down and turned into ice. No sweat, I'll just drive slow like everyone else. Fortunately, I ran into a gentleman scraping the sidewalks and get directions to the nearest Target (I need a pillow!) and grocery store. And just my luck everyone is driving at a snails pace so I'll have time to look around and mark my bearings, read street signs, etc.

Off I go . . . 10mph . . . (this part takes a while) . . . . .I'm looking for 38th Street and I think it's this main intersection up ahead. Sweet red light, time to read the street name . . . . and GREAT . . . . the snow has completely covered the sign! So what was initially a fortunate little snow turns into a bit of a struggle. This marks my first adventure of my first new day in Washington.
